CA: John Deere Review by Debbie from Big Rock, IL We bought a John Deere
medium

We bought a John Deere 190C automatic lawn mower from Lowe's a couple of years ago. Right as the 2 yr. warranty was expiring, we started to have nothing but problems with our Deere. First one of the pulleys broke so we had that fixed. After the warranty expired (within one month) the belt kept popping off and the tension was tight. Finally we thought we fixed the problem with the belt coming off,

John Deere 190C lawn tractor battery/electrical issues
low

I bought this lawn tractor from my neighbor a few months ago, and they said it had some electrical issue and needed to be jumped to start. They had replaced the battery the year before which had helped at first, but then the problem came back. I have been using it to mow all summer, but today it was harder to start even with a jump. It did eventually start, but after about 45 minutes of mowing the mower blades stopped engaging and having any power. I drove it into the garage assuming the belt had come off, but it hadn’t. When I went to restart again right after (something that was never a problem before, as long as the engine had been running) there was nothing - totally dead battery from what I could tell. Would anybody have any ideas of where I can start looking to diagnose a problem like this? I have basic mechanic skills and tools from doing a lot of my own car repairs, but with tractors or anything related to electrical I’m less sure of what to look for.
